Garden Reverie

Things have been blooming a lot in my garden and I took time to document how they are growing well. Roses, palms, white grape, little bamboo and some other new species have flourished again after some time.

Here are some images of them:

Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there. ~Thomas Fuller

First, let me introduce a beautiful accident in the backyard... I didn't plant it at all; it just sprouted and grew, flowered and developed a tiny marble sized speck that is a baby watermelon! I think it's a sweet 16 variety, common to the locality. I have "big" hopes though that I will be an owner of a full grown watermelon in a month.

This old vine is one of the most neglected member of my garden. But it always bears its yellow green berries. White grape and a sour one too, LOL. I love watching these green globes get transparent in the daylight.

Wow, my newest pick. A big rose this is. I don't know her name, I just call her Miss Rose. I'd probably let this sit on a bigger pot.

A fragrant bunch, old variety but a very busy bloomer. When you want your garden to smell nice, plant this one.

Pretty and Strange

Today, it's drizzling, and still cloudy.

I went outside to check on the people who are clearing my garden, and saw a rose in bloom ♥♥♥. Sweet, yet strewn with thorns. I can't help but be amazed at the huge petals. Of course, I had to take pictures and measured its diameter.

I paid the workers, went back inside when everything was done and began to reflect again. Then, here again, I find my fingertips on the keyboard.

This strange beauty made me do my lunch a bit late because I discovered that:

1. When you look a little deeper, there's a strangeness and a complication in individuals that I actually consider, beautiful.

2. Certain people are beautiful like the rose. Pleasant to the eyes but will make your heart bleed.

3. Pretty may be there but for a fleeting moment, temporary.

4. The rose is a lonely thing at a certain perspective. Because it needs to have thorns.

5. Thorns are nothing for some people. They are willing to be hurt just to get hold of a beautiful thing.

6. You must have patience to see a thing bloom to its peak.

This brought me to quite a lot of thoughts. I'm glad to have a rose garden. Wish you'd try that sometime, too.

Drenched

A humble shot of a Pigeon Berry's young leaves. Went to the shrub after morning rain. I really got an awesome feeling seeing the colors.

This time, yes.

All your life you are told things you can’t do. All your life they will say you’re not good enough, or strong enough, or talented enough. They will say you’re the wrong height, or the wrong weight, or the wrong type to play this or achieve that.

They will tell you NO, a thousand times "NO". Until all the NO’s become meaningless. All your life they will tell you NO, quite firmly and very quickly. And you will tell them. YES.

and in the very end, every single thing was worth it...
